Keeping up with machine learning fundamentals

We were looking for something, but couldn’t find it, so we built it.

An example machine learning multi-choice question.

Machine learning is a complex subject, so I’m always looking for shortcuts to learn more and stay in touch with the fundamentals.

Here is one of those. Something that will help you keep up.

A little bit of background

I suck at memorizing things. Even when I’m always trying to practice what I learn, it’s tough to stay on top. I wanted to spice it up a little bit!

How about using 3 minutes every day to answer a random machine learning question?

This would expose me to many different topics, and I’d see a measurable improvement over time without sacrificing a lot of time every day.

But there’s only one problem: Where should I go to get consistent, high-quality machine learning questions?

If you can’t find it, build it

A friend and I decided to build bnomial, a site with a simple goal: A non-bullshit, simple way to learn something new as fast as possible.

We publish one machine learning question every day, and that’s it!

You load the page, answer the question, read the explanation, and return the next day. Rinse and repeat.

And the best part?

It’s free.

We don’t want your money; we want your support: answer questions, subscribe to getting them by email and help us every time our explanations aren’t clear, or we make a mistake.

We believe bnomial will help people become better at machine learning, and so far, the site’s popularity has been beyond anything we could ever imagine.

We are building it in public

We are building bnomial in public, so make sure you follow me on Twitter for the rest of this story! We have a few cool ideas in mind, and I can’t wait to see how they help you become better at what you do.

I hope you enjoy this as much as we enjoyed building it!

Good look answering today’s question!

I build machine learning systems until 5 pm. Then I come here and tell you stories about them.
